Description

The Nautor Swan 441 (and the purebred racing version, the 441R) is a legendary Ron Holland-designed offshore cruiser-racer built between 1978 and 1982. Highly regarded for its tank-like build quality and exceptional upwind performance, it is a true sailor’s yacht with a pedigree that commands respect on both the racecourse and the bluewater.

Key Characteristics

  • Design & Pedigree: While earlier Swans were penned by Sparkman & Stephens, the 441 marked Nautor’s transition into Ron Holland’s modern, high-performance designs. The 441R variant features a flush-deck profile, while the standard 441 includes a traditional coachroof.
  • Construction: The yacht features heavy, stiff fiberglass construction with timeless lines and Nautor’s renowned Finnish joinery down below.
  • Performance: It handles heavy weather with ease and offers fantastic upwind tracking, typical of the International Offshore Rule (IOR) era.
