“Arctic Willow” was built by Victoria Yachts in the UK, to Lloyds of London specifications. She is currently in the water, ready to sail away at Great Island Boat Yard in Harpswell, Main.  When we first took this boat in, she had been in inside storage for a time.  We did not know exactly what a gem she was.  Since then, she has been thoroughly gone over, cleaned, rigged, engine run, sailed, and enjoyed.  She is in every way a sail-away yacht for serious cruisers.

Victoria 30s are notoriously excellent blue water cruisers.  They were designed and built with safety, and seamanship in mind.  They are stout, and comfortable, even in rough seas.

Layout:

On deck there is plenty of room to make one’s way back and forth from the cockpit and the foredeck on either side of the cabin house.  The cockpit is compact and deep as most blue water double-enders are. Sheets are set up for short-handed sailing.  There is a locker under the port side bench.  She has Wheel steering for easy long passages.

Below:

Starting forward, she has a v berth with room for two, and stowage. The v berth is ventilated via an overhead Lewmar tinted hatch, as well as ports. Aft of the head is a hanging locker to port, and a head to starboard.  The head is plumbed to a holding tank.

The main salon features two sleep-capable settees, with a drop down folding teak table.  Light and air are provided by the Lewmar hatch, and several opening ports. Starboard side aft is a pilot berth and navigation station.

Port side aft is the galley, with a Flavell Propane 2 burner stove/ oven, a foot pumped stainless steel sink, and stowage.

Rigging:

Proctor aluminum spars

Two # 30 Lewmar self tailing winches

Lewmar single speed cabin mounted halyard winch

How does the charter/sale arrangement work?

Most boats can be purchased for their current appraised value or chartered on a long term basis (minimum three years) with an option to purchase. The purchase price of chartered vessels is usually established at the beginning of the lease and reflects the anticipated market value of the boat three years hence. If a charterer elects to exercise the option and purchase the vessel at the end of the charter, all charter payments are credited against the agreed upon purchase price. There are no interest charges or financing fees, etc. The charterer may also choose not to exercise his or her purchase option, in which case the security deposit will be returned.  Charter payments will be kept as charter hire. Broker commissions are generally paid in full at the commencement of the charter. For more information, please contact us by email or call us at (401) 842-0752.
