This boat is available for outright sale.

The Owens Concord Is a classic sport fishing Yacht with great styling, a sturdy hull, and a great reputation.

Fully restored these boats are advertized for $44,000 to $70,000. This is your opportunity to purchase a classic, while at the same time supporting the Groton Sea Scouts ship 584.

She is in great shape. She will need a little bit of cosmetic maintenance to bring her up to Bristol shape. If you want to go fishing with the boys, she is just about there. She went in the water on June 19. Her starboard engine is running perfectly, while her port engine needs a starter. It shoould be in in the next few days. The Sea Scouts skipper brought her to thier mooring under one engine, and called to tell me how well she handled as such.

Her engines and systems have clearly been maintained meticulously. They have new carburetors, new alternators, water pumps, and distributors. The engines are winterized, and should be ready to go for the season. She is in Groton, CT. Make an appointment to have a look!

Layout:

Starting aft is the huge deck which is perfect for bringing in big fish, or for sitting back and enjoying the ride. The decks are teak, and though they are no longer perfect they are still in great shape. There is easy access to the engines and gen set via easily lifted covers. Note the over built cleats aft, and the teak swim platform.

Head up the ladder to the fly bridge, where one can easily take command of this great fishing machine. There is one seat- for the captain, but one could add several more on to the sturdy platform.

The foredeck is solid and easily accessible for anchoring.

The main salon has a drop down settee on the starboard side, with a helm station forward. The wheel and panel are currently detached. Take a close look and see how well put together the wiring is.

On the port side aft you will find a work bench. Forward is the galley with hot and cold running water, a large sink, electric fridge, princess 3 burner electric stove, and stowage.

Lifting the panels on the soul you will find the electric water heater, as well as the holding tank, water tank, and fresh water pump.

Forward below the helm station is a head with an electric head that is plumbed to a holding tank. There is a shower wet up as well, but it has been blocked off. It should be very easy to set it up again.

All the way forward is the forward berth. The bunk has just enough room for two people who feel very comfortable together. One could extend the bunk out to make it wider. There is also a hanging locker, as well as another locker. Access to the anchor locker is easy.

Electrical:

The electrical system on this boat has both ac, and dc. There is a gen set, which we presume to be in good working order (to be confirmed, as well as shore power. The dc system runs off of two batteries that are on isolator switches.

Electronics:

  • The electronics on board are archaic, but look to be on good working condition.
  • Seacrest LH15 PA system
  • Lorad XR70 VHF radio
  • Spot light

Some extra equipment:

  • Two fighting chairs
  • Two Danforth anchors plus 1/2" three stand rhode.
  • Rule 500 bilge pump
  • Boat hook
  • Newer helm seat
  • Life jackets
  • Fenders
  • Line
  • Rod holders mounted in main salon
  • Deck chairs
  • Barometer
  • Tide clock
  • Oil lantern
  • Tools
  • Extra parts for engines.

Projects/Issues:

  • Both helm stations will need new compasses.
  • The port side and middle wind shield are cracked. They will need to be replaced.
  • Shower plumbing will need to be reinstalled.
  • It is a boat, there will alsways be more projects, though the boat is in very good condition.

How does the charter/sale arrangement work?

Most boats can be purchased for their current appraised value or chartered on a long term basis (minimum three years) with an option to purchase. The purchase price of chartered vessels is usually established at the beginning of the lease and reflects the anticipated market value of the boat three years hence. If a charterer elects to exercise the option and purchase the vessel at the end of the charter, all charter payments are credited against the agreed upon purchase price. There are no interest charges or financing fees, etc. The charterer may also choose not to exercise his or her purchase option, in which case the security deposit will be returned.  Charter payments will be kept as charter hire. Broker commissions are generally paid in full at the commencement of the charter. For more information, please contact us by email or call us at (401) 842-0752.
