CHAPARRAL

Chaparral for sale. Great, fast boat has been well maintained. Runs beautifully. Mercruiser 260 G engine with low hours.

Engine Hours: 1,345

We just took this boat from Amesbury MA to Manchester, MA. The boat ran beautifully. All photos are from this trip, and were taken October 19, 2011. She is fast, quiet, clean, and comfortable. She has been very well maintained. She is in great shape all around.

Layout:

On deck there is a surprising amount of room with two seats forward in the cockpit, a good amount of deck space, and a good sized bench aft with room for four. The cocpit is covered by a recently installed fully encloseable canvas cover.

Bellow starting forward is the private v berth with an insert cushion that makes for a very comfortable double berth, or removes to make separate bunks.

Aft to starboard is the galley with a stainless sink, refridgerator, space for a stove (stove has been removed), and a good amount of cupboard space.

Aft of the galley is the very clean head, with sink, stowage and marine toilet plumed to a holding tank. The shower head has been removed, but could easily be reinstalled.

There is a bench to port across from the galley and head.

There is yet another double berth all the way aft with its own port.

Hull/Decks:

  • Her hull and decks are in great shape, reflecting the care that has gone into the boat over the years.

Electrical:

  • She has a basic 12 volt system, as well as an AC system, including chord. All DC switches are on the helm station panel. All electronics on board were tested on our trip and were working well.

Electronics:

  • Apelco 5200 vhf
  • Ritchie compass
  • Fish finder/depth sounder
  • West Marine stereo with internal and external speakers

Some extra equipment:

  • Power chord
  • Life jackets
  • Ships bell
  • Fire extinguisher

Projects/Issues:

  • The topsides will need a good buffing in the spring
  • Captain's chair has a tear in the cushion as does the mates chair (see photos)
  • We noted a small leak in the port side riser on the trip.
  • Otherwise she is a drop and go boat.

How does the charter/sale arrangement work?

Most boats can be purchased for their current appraised value or chartered on a long term basis (minimum three years) with an option to purchase. The purchase price of chartered vessels is usually established at the beginning of the lease and reflects the anticipated market value of the boat three years hence. If a charterer elects to exercise the option and purchase the vessel at the end of the charter, all charter payments are credited against the agreed upon purchase price. There are no interest charges or financing fees, etc. The charterer may also choose not to exercise his or her purchase option, in which case the security deposit will be returned.  Charter payments will be kept as charter hire. Broker commissions are generally paid in full at the commencement of the charter. For more information, please contact us by email or call us at (401) 842-0752.
